As promised here’s the rest of Baby James’ photo shoot. This little fella was so gorgeous & good natured…..it made choosing the images for the blog post so difficult – I really wanted to include them all! In the process of trying to keep James’ attention we realised that he’s slightly infatuated with the muppets – well with the Mahna Mahna song in particular – so I will admit to having replayed this song a few (read lots!) of times. If you’d like a trip down memory lane, you can click on this link!
Sarah & Conor, we had such great fun at the shoot. Thanks for being so welcoming and for getting so into it – it really makes all the difference!

I’ll be putting up a full blog post next week of images from this beautiful little boy’s recent shoot, but I just couldn’t resist posting this image. The second myself & Mark saw it we instantly fell in love with it!

We had the pleasure of photographing beautiful 9 day old baby Fionn recently. I absolutely love these images, especially the ones of Sharon, Steve & Baby Fionn cuddled up in a family embrace. As luck would have it, we happened to have a purple blanket with us to wrap Fionn up in, which matched the colour scheme & Steve’s jumper perfectly! I’ve included a little sneak peek of some of the details of Fionn’s nursery too as it was so adorable. Sharon & Steve, we hope you enjoy every minute with Fionn – he’s an absolute sweetheart.

Meet beautiful four week old Baby Aurélie – it’s such a beautiful name, don’t you think? Some days babies just want to be held & cuddled. On these kinds of days, the focus tends to be a bit more on family shots & individual shots with Mom & Dad. I really love how these shots turned out & you can definitely feel the family connection.
Also, this photo shoot is such a perfect example of why shooting in your home makes for such a unique experience. All your books, items from your travels & important keepsakes can all influence the images and give them such a personal feel. Something that in years to come will make them all the more special.

Little 2 week old baby Amelia co-operated perfectly. She was awake for the first part of the shoot & then happily went off to sleep in order for us to get the sweetest snuggled up shots of her. I love these images of her with her parents – you can just sense the tenderness & emotion they feel for her. Up to 2 weeks old is such a perfect age to photograph a newborn – they are still so tiny & curled up and they just want to be held & cuddled. There’s also the added bonus that most newborns at this age will happily go off to sleep after they’ve been fed allowing for beautiful newborn portraits.

Meet Baby Leah – the happiest, smiliest 4 week old we’ve ever photographed! People say that babies don’t really start smiling until they’re about 6-8 weeks old, but Leah wasn’t just smiling, her whole face was lighting up. I think this little girl may very well have a future career in front of the camera…..she was so aware and alert and seemed to be really enjoying having her photograph taken.

Something very special happens when you’re invited into someone’s home to witness a new family in the making. To be asked to capture a brand new, beautiful being….feels quite magical. To be allowed a glimpse of their new life & routine (or in the early days, the lack of it!). To witness the love, the smiles, the snuggles & the tears and to capture these for years to come. I don’t think I will ever take any of that for granted.
Thank you Alan & Tara ♥

I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of the commercialisation of Valentine’s Day & I’m a firm believer in making things rather than buying them – it’s just so much more personal. It really doesn’t matter how small it is, people love receiving something handmade. It shows you care enough to spend the time & effort to make something especially for them. I realise that it’s not always easy to find the time to make something by hand, so with this in mind, I’ve picked out four really lovely, quick & easy DIY projects for you to try. These could be used at any time of the year. If you’re not into Valentine’s Day you could just save these for another time during the year when you want to surprise someone you love…..it’s so much nicer to get a little gift or card when you’re not expecting it!
