DIY KIDS: Some halloween crafty ideas
Now that Oisin is a bit more clued into Halloween (he turned 3 last Sunday-can’t believe it!), I’ve been on the lookout for some crafts to spook up our house a little. He brought home a whole bag of his creations today from Montessori so they’ll be getting pride of place on the walls this weekend! I love these two projects below. The Shocking Silhouettes one looks seriously easy. The Halloween Hang-ups look a little more time-consuming but they look really cool, don’t you think?

When my sister Bridin & I both lived in Dublin we had a little pumpkin carving ritual going on – well we did it two years in a row – so maybe not quite a ritual but it was great fun…. She’s coming to visit this weekend with her boys so we’re hoping to get a little bit of time together to carve some creations & maybe have a glass or two of something to invoke the muse! I love the look of this one below, but it does look fairly labour intensive and intricate, we’ll see, if I’m feeling inspired I might go for it! Or we may just go for nice & simple Jack O’ Lanterns.

Lastly, and the cutest of all I think is a little Halloween DIY project for the tiny ones in your life – aren’t they adorable? These come via a very cute blog called Paper & String. You’ll find all the free patterns and instructions here.

Happy Halloween everyone & have a great weekend!
How sweet is this? And so simple! It would make a beautiful addition to any baby’s room.

I’ve been on the lookout for ages now for letters for Oisin’s bedroom. I’ve seen some lovely ones for sale but they are soooo expensive! So I was pretty chuffed when I came across this sweet tutorial. All you need is some colourful felt, some stuffing, a needle & thread and a little bit of time….should be manageable!

I recently came across this bird mobile and completely fell in love with it! I’m planning to make one for my little boy’s bedroom, and will share some images when I do, but it might take a while! So, in the meantime have a look at this tutorial – you might be inspired to make one yourself….
